Description

On a yellow disc shape item, a large black star, superimposed with the Coat of Arms for the United States, consisting of bronze eagle, laurel, arrows, and clouds, surmounted by dark blue glory displaying 13 bronze stars, the shield bearing 7 vertical stripes alternating white and scarlet, with dark blue chief (upper background), edged bronze; all within a black designation band, edged with a bronze border with the inscription “DIRECTOR OF THE ARMY STAFF” at the top and “UNITED STATES ARMY” at the base, between two stylized triangles, all bronze.


Symbolism

The star is symbolic of the highest level in the Army; the Coat of Arms of the United States allude to the mission of the Director of the Army Staff which is to exercise supervision over the management of the land forces of the United States.


Background

The DAS approved the seal on 26 November 2019.
